Latest

Statistics Tags Open the Catalog

Top tags in Statistics are now shortcuts. Click a tag to close Statistics and jump straight to the catalog items with that tag applied.

This makes the Statistics dashboard more useful for browsing: the tags you see there now lead directly back to the generations behind the numbers.

GenCatalog 5.16.5

Published June 5, 2026

Ready for Save & Favorite

The desktop app now supports the upcoming Grok Save & Favorite workflow from the Chrome extension. Once the extension update reaches your browser, saved Grok generations can be added to Favorites during capture instead of being hunted down later in the desktop catalog.

The matching Chrome extension update is coming soon. This desktop version makes GenCatalog ready for it.

Import Receipts Are Coming Soon

The desktop app is ready for the upcoming Grok import receipt that breaks down newly downloaded items by images, SD videos, and HD videos. That extra accounting will appear with the matching Chrome extension update.

GenCatalog 5.16.4 + Extension 5.35

Published June 4, 2026

Cleaner Grok Scan and Download Flow

The extension is now focused on the safest everyday workflow: scan Grok Imagine, find new items, and download them into your local catalog. The desktop app now carries the matching Grok upgrade safeguards.

Bulk upscaling has been removed from the extension because it can permanently change large groups of saved videos and sometimes produces lower-quality results than the original generation. Upscaling is still available from the desktop app, where you can review the videos you want to change before starting the work.

Use the desktop detail view for one video, or select multiple Grok videos in the catalog and use the selected-item Upgrade action when you want to queue a deliberate group of upgrades.

Desktop Grok Upgrades Stay in Place

When a saved Grok video is upgraded from the desktop app, GenCatalog keeps the item anchored to its original creation timeline instead of making older generations look newly created.

Experimental lower-resolution restore controls are hidden by default and can be enabled only from Settings for users who know their Grok account supports that workflow.

Better Grok Upgrade Guidance

If a Grok video upgrade cannot be accessed from the active Chrome tab, GenCatalog now explains that you may need to open the Grok account or Chrome profile that created the item, then retry.

Cleaner Capture Settings

Settings no longer shows static platform rows for services that may not exist in your catalog. Platform visibility stays tied to the work you have actually saved.

GenCatalog 5.16.3 + Extension 5.33

Published June 3, 2026

Venice Saves Are More Complete

Venice video and image generations now show save badges reliably, capture the full prompt above the generation, and can refresh prompt metadata when you save an item that is already in your catalog.

Large Catalogs Open More Safely

GenCatalog no longer restores unbounded “Show all” views on very large libraries. Saved filters still come back, while the grid falls back to a paged view to avoid repeated loading loops.

Hidden Item Browsing Behaves Like the Main Catalog

Sorting and filtering now stay inside Hidden Items, so you can review hidden media by newest created, recently added, rating, or source without jumping back to the main grid.

GenCatalog 5.16.2 + Extension 5.31

Published June 3, 2026

Fullscreen Video Navigation

When browsing videos fullscreen, the left and right arrow keys now move cleanly to the previous or next catalog item instead of focusing the video player's pause control.

Videos still support simple playback control with the spacebar or a click, so fullscreen browsing stays uninterrupted.

GenCatalog 5.16.1 + Extension 5.31

Published June 1, 2026

Grok Upscaling Polish

Bulk Grok upgrades now do a better job showing only videos that can still be upgraded, with clearer summaries for items Grok cannot upscale anymore.

The GenCatalog save badge on Grok media has moved to the lower-right corner so it no longer gets in the way of Grok's native play button.

GPT Image and Popup Refinements

GPT Image scans keep the same simple scan/download flow while still letting you update missing prompts on images already in your catalog.

This release also includes the new statistics view and final polish for the redesigned popup and desktop browsing experience.

GenCatalog 5.16.0 + Extension 5.30

Published June 1, 2026

GPT Image Support

GenCatalog can now scan ChatGPT conversations for GPT Image outputs, import prompt-matched images, and keep media-only items held until there is enough prompt context to make them useful.

If a GPT Image item is already in your catalog but does not have a prompt yet, scan the chat again and use Update prompts to fill in the missing prompt without downloading a duplicate.

Grok Imagine Upscaling

Grok Imagine upgrades are now part of the app workflow. You can upscale saved Grok media from the detail view and run bulk upgrades from your catalog, including best-available upgrades, video upscale, SuperGrok Heavy, and 1080p where your account supports it.

Cleaner Popup and App Navigation

The extension popup now focuses on the platform you are actively using, with a compact switcher, clearer scan/download states, and readable progress summaries. The desktop app also has a cleaner browsing sidebar with source filters that still work as filters, not just labels.

GenCatalog 5.15.14 + Extension 5.28

Published May 28, 2026

Safer Media Downloads

GenCatalog now handles media filenames more carefully when serving downloads from your local library.

Safer Media Saves

Uploads with unusual filenames now fall back to safe GenCatalog filenames instead of using path-like names from the browser.

Desktop-Only Hotfix

The Chrome extension remains at 5.28 because this update only changes the desktop app.

GenCatalog 5.15.13 + Extension 5.28

Published May 24, 2026

Smoother Preview Browsing

Full Preview, Preview/Detail, gallery highlighting, scroll position, and paged gallery views now stay aligned as you move through media.

Better Return Flow From Full Preview

When you leave Full Preview, GenCatalog returns to the same item you were viewing and keeps the matching thumbnail selected, including when navigation crosses page boundaries.

Safer Higgsfield Video Saves

Higgsfield video saves are more careful about finding real video media and avoiding broken video entries created from thumbnail images.

Cleaner Higgsfield Video Details

Video model details are handled more accurately when Higgsfield exposes the video model or feature, so saved items are less likely to show a generic model label.

GenCatalog 5.15.12 + Extension 5.27

Published May 23, 2026

Grok Links Are Easier to Use

When GenCatalog has a Grok Imagine post URL, the detail view now shows an obvious Open in Grok action near the item metadata.

Backfilled Grok Post URLs

Scanning Grok favorites can now fill in missing Grok Imagine links for existing catalog items when GenCatalog can match them confidently by post ID or media URL.

GenCatalog 5.15.11 + Extension 5.26

Published May 23, 2026

Faster Source Browsing

Source image views now support 25, 50, 100, 200, or all items per page, so large Grok source sets are easier to scan without forcing one heavy default.

Filters Stay Put

Switching between Images and Videos while you are inside a source now keeps you in that source instead of sending you back to the full gallery.

Better Preview Navigation

GenCatalog now remembers the item you were viewing, scrolls back to it when you leave preview, adds a clearer selected highlight, and includes a larger full-preview mode with an optional details drawer.

Helpful Capture Links

Newly saved Grok items can preserve a link back to the original Grok Imagine page when that URL is available, making it easier to continue working from a specific generation.

Higgsfield Helper Recovery

The Higgsfield download helper now keeps track of items it could not download and can export those failed URLs for a second pass.

GenCatalog 5.15.10 + Extension 5.25

Published May 23, 2026

Reliable Grok Source Image Thumbnails

Grok source image thumbnails are now saved locally, so source filters and source browsing stay useful even when the original Grok image URL is no longer available.

Larger Source Image Browser

The source image browser now opens into a larger paged view with fewer images per page, making it easier to inspect and choose the right source image in large catalogs.

Grok Account Labels Restored

Grok saves now keep account labels attached more consistently, including older entries where GenCatalog can recover the account from saved Grok metadata.

GenCatalog 5.15.9 + Extension 5.23

Published May 14, 2026

Multi-Section Venice.ai Prompts

Venice.ai saves now do a better job preserving prompts that are split across multiple visible sections, instead of stopping after the first paragraph.

Better Repair on Re-Save

Re-saving a Venice.ai item can now update an existing catalog entry when GenCatalog can match the same media and the newly captured prompt is more complete.

Still Limited to Chat Pages

Venice.ai support remains limited to visible chat-page generations. Public feed capture and bulk import are not included.

GenCatalog 5.15.8 + Extension 5.22

Published May 12, 2026

Better Venice.ai Prompt Capture

Venice.ai saves are better at capturing the prompt shown with visible chat generations, including layouts where the save badge appears on a preview thumbnail above the final video.

Metadata Repair on Re-Save

Re-saving a Venice.ai item can now fill in missing prompt or model details when GenCatalog can match it to an existing catalog item.

Still Limited to Chat Pages

Venice.ai support remains limited to visible chat-page generations. Public feed capture and bulk import are not included.

GenCatalog 5.15.7 + Extension 5.21

Published May 12, 2026

Venice.ai Support

GenCatalog can now save visible image and video generations from Venice.ai, including prompt and model details when Venice exposes them on the page.

This is designed for privacy-conscious creators who want a local archive path: save the work you care about into GenCatalog, then delete it from Venice when you want that extra peace of mind.

Chat-Only, With One Video Caveat

Venice.ai support is limited to chat pages. Public feed capture and bulk import are not included in this release.

For videos, press play first so the save badge can attach to the rendered video.

GenCatalog 5.15.6 + Extension 5.20

Published May 10, 2026

Safer Midjourney Duplicate Cleanup

Remove duplicates now preserves all four Midjourney variants from the same generation instead of treating sibling variations as interchangeable.

Repeat Saves Still Clean Up Normally

If the same Midjourney variant is saved more than once, GenCatalog can still identify the repeat record and keep your catalog tidy.

GenCatalog 5.15.5 + Extension 5.20

Published May 8, 2026

Grok HD Badges Restored

The desktop catalog grid again shows HD badges on Grok videos when the saved file is HD or has 720p+ dimensions.

Collection Controls Are Clearer

Collections now have visible controls for the common cleanup actions: removing an item from the current collection and deleting a collection from the sidebar.

These actions only change collection membership. The original images and videos stay in your catalog.

Collection Views Refresh Cleanly

After removing an item from a collection, GenCatalog updates the filtered view, collection counts, and detail panel immediately so the library no longer feels stuck on stale collection state.

GenCatalog 5.15.3 + Extension 5.19

Grok HD Videos Are Easier to Spot

Grok videos saved in HD now get a subtle HD badge in your catalog, including older videos GenCatalog can identify from the file itself. It is easier to tell at a glance which clips are already the higher-quality version.

Upgrade Saved Grok Videos to HD

If GenCatalog finds saved Grok videos that still have an HD version available, the extension can offer to upgrade them instead of treating them as already done. Upgrade progress now appears in the popup while the work is running, so you are not left guessing what is happening.

Higgsfield Saves Stay Out of the Way

On Higgsfield public grids, the GenCatalog save badge now sits in the bottom-left corner so it does not compete with Higgsfield's own heart button.

Midjourney Scans Are Much Smarter About Duplicates

Midjourney can change filenames and CDN URLs behind the scenes, which made it too easy for the same image to look "new" again later. GenCatalog now keys Midjourney items to the stable job ID and image position instead, so scans are better at recognizing what you already saved — and what you intentionally deleted.

That means fewer repeat imports, cleaner scan results, and less time babysitting your library.

Save Badges That Stick Around

Grok and Midjourney both redraw parts of their pages as you browse, refresh, and jump between views. The extension is now better at keeping GenCatalog save badges attached through those changes instead of disappearing after the page quietly rebuilds itself.

Grok post pages also now handle still images more reliably, not just videos.

Cleaner Progress While You Sync

Scan and download progress now shows up right where you started the action, so it is easier to tell what GenCatalog is doing while a bulk job is running. Midjourney downloads also end with a clearer summary: saved, already in catalog, previously deleted, or failed.

No more staring at vague metadata text and wondering whether the job actually finished.

The Real GenCatalog Icon Is Back

Desktop builds now use the current GenCatalog stacked-card icon across macOS, Windows, and in-app branding.

GenCatalog 5.15.0 + Extension 5.17

Published April 23, 2026

Full-Resolution Drag and Drop

Dragging from the desktop detail view now hands off the catalog's full-resolution file instead of a rendered thumbnail. A new Settings toggle keeps full-resolution drag and drop on by default, and failures now report clearly instead of silently falling back to the wrong asset.

Prompt Copy, Right Where You Need It

The detail view now has a compact copy icon beside the prompt so you can reuse prompts without hunting through the interface or selecting long text by hand.

Midjourney and Higgsfield Capture Fixes

Midjourney saves now preserve liked items as a searchable liked tag, with better metadata recovery on likes pages. Higgsfield capture has been tightened so saved assets use the full-resolution media rather than thumbnails.

Release Pairing

Desktop app 5.15.0 ships with Chrome extension 5.17. Existing desktop installs update through the in-app updater; new downloads are available for macOS and Windows.

GenCatalog Extension 5.16

Published April 21, 2026

A Full Popup Refresh

The Chrome extension got a major visual refresh. The popup has been rebuilt around a cleaner shell with a stronger hierarchy: header, single banner slot, platform strip, streamlined action rail, recent saves feed, and lighter-weight save confirmations. It feels less like a debugging console and more like the control center for the platforms you actually use every day.

Settings Now Own Download Preferences

Persistent download preferences moved into Settings so the main popup could focus on scanning, syncing, and recent activity instead of long-lived options cluttering the primary flow.

Platform-Specific Actions That Make Sense

Grok, Midjourney, Higgsfield, and Digen now each show the controls that matter for that platform instead of sharing one crowded popup layout. Scan and download flows are cleaner, counts are more trustworthy, and misleading fallback actions have been removed from the main path.

Better Save Feedback and Reliability

The extension now has richer trial-state messaging, cleaner banners, more reliable recents, save receipts, and stronger bulk-save behavior. Offline saves can queue locally instead of vanishing into a generic failure, and Midjourney/Higgsfield preserve original creation time more reliably during bulk import so sorting by created date stays trustworthy.

Extension-Only Release

This release bumps the Chrome extension to 5.16 only. The desktop app version is unchanged.

GenCatalog 5.14.3

Published April 19, 2026

Grok Scan & Download Fixed

The long-running Grok favorites scan bug is fixed. Hidden items are now properly recognized during scan, so Scan Favorites and Download New Items reflect what's actually actionable instead of phantom duplicates. Bulk download reporting has been cleaned up to distinguish real new saves from existing items, metadata updates, and excluded items.

Release Pairing

Desktop app 5.14.3 ships with Chrome extension 5.14. Together they close the loop on the Grok favorites issue and make scan, sync, and download behavior line up with what's actually in your catalog.

GenCatalog 5.14.2

Published April 19, 2026

A New Sidebar

The sidebar has been rebuilt from the top down. At the top, a hero block shows how many generations are in your catalog right now, how many you've added in the last 30 days, and a small sparkline of daily saves across that window. Below it, a source ratio bar breaks your library down by platform — Grok, Higgsfield, Midjourney, Digen — at a glance. Click any platform in the legend to toggle it on or off.

Filters are reorganized around how you actually use them. Type, source platform, sort, rating, and favorites sit up top. Everything else lives in a Refine further accordion that expands in place. Active filter counts show inline so you always know what's narrowing your grid.

Collections are now pinned at the bottom of the sidebar, always visible without scrolling.

Settings Screen

GenCatalog has a proper Settings screen for the first time. Open it from the gear icon in the sidebar or with ⌘,. Six tabs: General, Capture & Import, Library, Maintenance, License, and About. The maintenance tools previously scattered in the sidebar now have a proper home with descriptions, last-run timestamps, and a Run all option.

Source Images — A New Way to Slice Your Catalog

Every generation that started from a reference image — image-to-image, character refs, style refs, edits — is now a first-class thing in your catalog. Open Source Images under Refine further to find a Has source image toggle, a strip of your top five most-used source images with counts, and Show all sources for the full searchable list sorted by how many generations came from each.

On a typical catalog, this surfaces around 1,000 distinct source images across roughly 11,000 generations — a side of your work you couldn't see before.

Top Prompts

Find every variation you've made from the same prompt idea. Under Refine further, Top Prompts groups your generations by the opening of their prompt. Click a prompt to narrow the grid to every generation that used it. Sort by most used, most recent, or A→Z. Prompts are grouped by their first 80 characters, normalized — so all the variations you've made by tweaking the back half cluster together.

Better Source Image Thumbnails

Some source image tiles were rendering as empty squares — especially for Grok video-extension chains, where the captured reference was a video frame rather than an uploaded image. The app now falls back to the child generation's own frame when a source lacks one. The empty-tile count dropped from 21 to 2 on a typical catalog, and video-extension sources now display their parent video's first frame automatically.

Polish

A lot of small things got better. The old purple gradient accent has been replaced with a quieter slate throughout the app. Emoji icons have been swapped for a consistent inline icon set that reads clearly at every size. The macOS menu bar icon has been redrawn as a proper template icon that matches the app mark and sits naturally next to other tray icons. Extension popup has been retuned so icons and save badges don't look padded or double-tiled. Refine sidebar icons have been reworked to be more legible at small sizes. About screen copy has been rewritten in the app's current voice. Footer legibility has been improved — the compact meta chips in the sidebar footer now read cleanly at a glance.

GenCatalog 5.9.0

Published March 30, 2026

Logo Navigation

Clicking the GenCatalog logo now exits the detail view and returns you to the main grid. Faster browsing, more natural "home" behavior.

Play Audio on Launch

A new setting lets you choose whether videos open with sound on or muted by default. The app now behaves the way you prefer every time.

Grok: Bad Model Labels Cleaned Up

Some Grok videos were showing a model label like overriden in the catalog. That raw upstream value is now filtered out on save, hidden in the UI, and can be cleaned retroactively from existing catalog entries as well.

Grok: Prompt Capture Fixes

Two Grok save issues have been fixed. Saving from the favorites grid no longer drops the prompt when a valid cached prompt already exists. And saving from Grok detail pages now pulls the real post prompt from page data instead of grabbing unrelated page text.

Grok Save Reliability

The Grok save badge now goes straight through the real save flow instead of failing early with a misleading "Start Grok Catalog Server first!" message while the local server is already running. If the local server is actually unavailable, GenCatalog now reports that clearly.

Menu Bar Icon Polish

The macOS menu bar icon has been rebuilt as a proper tray-specific template icon. It now matches the GenCatalog stack shape more closely and looks more native alongside other menu bar icons.

Icon Refresh Across App and Extension

GenCatalog now uses the updated app icon across the desktop app, extension surfaces, and popup branding. Small surfaces have also been tuned so the icon reads more clearly at extension and toolbar sizes.

Extension Polish (5.12)

The extension popup icon framing has been cleaned up so the icon no longer looks padded inside a second tile. Hover behavior on save badges has also been refined to feel smoother and more intentional.

GenCatalog 5.7.0

Published March 26, 2026

Fix: License Activation

Fixed an issue where valid license keys showed as "Invalid." If you experienced this, re-enter your key — it will activate correctly now.

GenCatalog 5.6.7

Published March 23, 2026

Bug Fix: macOS Menu Bar Icon

Fixed a bug where the macOS menu bar icon displayed as a pink square instead of the GenCatalog icon.

Mobile Access Fixed

The QR code mobile view now works correctly on all networks. The server previously bound to localhost only — it now listens on all interfaces, so scanning the QR code from your phone opens your catalog instantly. Mobile scrolling also improved for smoother touch navigation.

GenCatalog 5.6.0

Published March 22, 2026

Under the Hood: TypeScript Migration

The entire GenCatalog codebase has been migrated to TypeScript. This is invisible to you as a user, but means faster bug detection, better code quality, and a more stable app going forward.

Performance Improvements

Internal source consolidation eliminated redundant file loading at startup. The app launches noticeably faster.

GenCatalog 5.5.1

Published March 21, 2026

Click Filename to Open

The filename in the detail panel is now a clickable link. Click it to open the file directly in your default app — Preview on Mac, your default viewer on Windows.

Show in Finder / Explorer

A folder icon next to the filename reveals the file highlighted in Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows) — no digging required.

Batch Export

Hover any grid item to reveal a checkbox. Select multiple items, then click Export Selected in the toolbar that appears at the bottom of the grid. Choose a destination folder and GenCatalog copies all selected files there. A progress indicator shows copy status, and a success toast confirms when it's done.

GenCatalog 5.4.0

Published March 20, 2026

Midjourney: Full Parameter Capture

GenCatalog now saves the complete generation recipe for every Midjourney image — Stylize, Chaos, Weird, Quality, Aspect Ratio, Seed, Style Reference (--sref), and Character Reference (--cref). All parameters are displayed in the detail panel so you can reproduce any result exactly.

Midjourney: Creator Attribution

When saving images from the Midjourney Explore feed, GenCatalog now captures the creator's username. Click the creator name in the detail panel to filter your catalog by that creator.

Midjourney: Link to Original Post

Every saved Midjourney item now includes a "View original on Midjourney ↗" link in the detail panel, taking you directly to the original generation page.

Filter by Model

Click the model label in any item's detail panel to filter your entire catalog by that model — Midjourney v8, Grok Aurora, and more.

Midjourney Extension Fixes (5.0.8)

Search results on the Explore feed now cache correctly — items found via search can be saved just like regular feed items. Save badges now persist after navigating into an image and back. Model version (v8) now shows correctly in catalog entries.

GenCatalog 5.3.2

Published March 18, 2026

Fix: Filename restored in detail view

The filename row was missing from the item detail panel. Restored — filename now shows in the metadata section below Dimensions.

Fix: Deleted Midjourney items no longer reappear

When you deleted a Midjourney item from GenCatalog, it would come back on the next library scan. Fixed — deleted MJ items are now added to the exclusion list and will not reappear.

Favorite button in Rediscover

You can now favorite items directly from the Rediscover modal. The button shows ⭐ Favorite or ★ Unfavorite and updates immediately on click.

GenCatalog 5.3.0

Published March 18, 2026

Midjourney Support

GenCatalog now captures Midjourney generations from the web app. Save individual images with one click, or scan your entire generation history at once and import everything in bulk. Full prompt, model version, aspect ratio, chaos, seed, --sref, --cref, and all other parameters are preserved for every image.

Extension Redesign

The popup has been rebuilt with a new dark minimal design, live catalog stats, a recent saves feed, and dedicated tabs for each platform (Grok, Higgsfield, Midjourney, Digen). The extension auto-detects which platform you're on and switches to the right tab automatically.

Bulk Download Improvements

Scan results now appear inline below the scan button. Download progress and controls are always visible without scrolling. Background downloads continue even when the popup is closed.

GenCatalog 5.2.3

Published March 14, 2026

Mass Tagger Fix

When tagging multiple items at once, clicking a tag suggestion from the dropdown now reliably adds it every time. Previously, clicking suggestions near the bottom of the list could dismiss the tagger without applying the tag. Fixed.

GenCatalog 5.2.2

Published March 13, 2026

Slideshow Improvements

Three fixes in one shot. Audio no longer keeps playing after you close the slideshow. A shuffle button (🔀) lets you randomize playback order. And a Copy Prompt button appears next to the prompt text so you can grab it without leaving the slideshow.

Tag Improvements

The tag input now shows all your existing tags the moment you click into it — no typing required to see suggestions. Tags also have a small × button to remove them individually.

GenCatalog 5.2.1

Published March 13, 2026

Tag Improvements

Two long-overdue tag quality-of-life fixes. The tag input now shows your existing tags the moment you click into it — no need to start typing to see suggestions. And tags on each item now have a small × button to remove them individually, without having to edit the full tag list.

GenCatalog 5.2.0

Published March 13, 2026

Slideshow: Videos Now Play in Full

Videos in slideshow mode now play to their natural end before advancing — no more cutting off at 10 seconds. The slide timer you set applies to images only. A 5-second clip plays for 5 seconds. A 60-second video plays for 60 seconds. Then the slideshow moves on automatically.

Trash: Multi-Select & Restore All

The trash modal now supports multi-select. Click any item to select it, click another to add it to your selection. Select a range and a floating action bar appears with Restore Selected and Delete Permanently options. A new Restore All button at the top of the modal lets you recover everything in trash with a single confirmation.

What's New Toast

After an update, a subtle notification appears letting you know what version you're on and linking to these release notes. It auto-dismisses after 15 seconds and only shows once per version.

Your Catalog is Better Protected

GenCatalog now keeps an automatic backup of your catalog and recovers from it if something goes wrong — no more risk of losing your library from a crash or unexpected shutdown. A number of behind-the-scenes improvements make the app more stable and your data safer.

Hidden Items: Reset Your PIN Without Losing Anything

You can now reset your Hidden Items PIN without affecting the items behind it. Your hidden list stays exactly where it was.

Cleaner Sidebar

Date Range, Advanced Filters, and Saved Searches are now tucked away until you need them. The sidebar icons have been refreshed for a more consistent look, and server status now lives right in the sidebar instead of the toolbar.

Reliability Fixes

If the app ever loses its connection to the local server, a banner now lets you know — and actions that could cause data loss are disabled until things are back online. A handful of small bugs have also been fixed.

GenCatalog 5.0.3

Published March 11, 2026

Hidden Items

A new way to keep select items out of your main library without deleting them. Hover any grid item and click the eye icon to hide it. Hidden items are protected behind a PIN and live in their own private section in the sidebar. Click any hidden item to open it in the full detail view — all metadata, tags, notes, and downloads work normally. Press Escape to return to hidden view, press Escape again to return to your main library.

Rediscover

The Random button is now Rediscover. Same behavior — surfaces a random generation from your library — but the name better reflects what it actually does: pulling up something you made months ago that you had completely forgotten about. A different kind of inspiration.

Shift-Select

Multi-select now supports range selection. In select mode, click one item to anchor it, then Shift+click another to select everything between them. Use Shift+Arrow keys to extend selection one item at a time.

Fresh Look

GenCatalog has a completely new dark, minimal design — easier on the eyes during long sessions and built to let your content take center stage.

Better Detail View

Click any item and a side panel slides in showing everything: prompt, model, dimensions, aspect ratio, tags, notes, and quick actions. Navigate between items with arrow keys without closing the panel.

More Info at a Glance

Grid cards now show prompt text, model name, and date right on the thumbnail. Dimensions and aspect ratio display in the detail view.

Smarter Grid

Cards automatically size up when you're viewing fewer items, so you're never staring at wasted space.

Windows Catalog Folder Protection

GenCatalog now prevents you from choosing a catalog folder inside the app's install directory on Windows. Previously, reinstalling or updating could delete your saved media if it was stored there. The folder picker now blocks unsafe locations and warns you to choose a different path.

Availability

  • Desktop app: Version 4.6.0 is available now. You'll be prompted to update on next launch.
  • Chrome extension: Version 4.5.0 is now live in the Chrome Web Store. Version 4.6.0 is pending review and approval.

Automatic Video Upscaling

Bulk downloads now automatically request HD upscales for your videos. Previously you had to upscale each video manually on Grok before downloading. GenCatalog handles this for you during bulk download, so every video arrives at the highest available quality.

Recently Added Sort

A new Recently Added sort option lets you see which items were most recently saved to your catalog, separate from when they were originally created. This is useful for finding your latest downloads at a glance.

Richer Metadata

The extension now captures character and moodboard references from Higgsfield, plus video extension details like parent post and start time. This extra context is saved alongside your media for better organization and searchability.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where the detail modal cropped images and videos. Portrait images and landscape/16:9 videos now display fully without clipping. Fixed an issue where the true delete and unlike features could fail to match items correctly. Improved timestamp accuracy for Higgsfield and Digen items. Promotional images from Higgsfield are now filtered out automatically.

Availability

  • Desktop app: Version 4.5.0 is available now. You'll be prompted to update on next launch.
  • Chrome extension: Version 4.5.0 is now live in the Chrome Web Store. Version 4.6.0 is pending review and approval.

Accurate Timestamps

Your catalog now shows when each image or video was actually created, not when it was downloaded. Previously, bulk downloading favorites could assign today's date to everything.

If you already have a catalog with incorrect dates, no action is needed. Timestamps are corrected automatically in the background as you browse your Grok favorites.

Large Collection Support

Users with very large libraries can now bulk download and sync without the popup freezing. Scanning shows live progress, and Sync New Items exits early once it reaches items already in your catalog.

Live Catalog Refresh

The desktop app now updates automatically when new items are saved, so your newest downloads appear without needing manual refreshes.
